The US dollar firmed against other currencies on Thursday after the US
Federal Reserve said on Wednesday that the recent US growth slowdown is likely
to be only transitory which was seen paving the way for a June Fed
interest-rate hike.

market's chances of a June rate hike soared to 94%. Commodities and metals in
particular, however, are waning as fears over the outlook for Chinese demand
dominate sentiment.
