Asian equities appear to have
weathered both the geopolitical storm of the air attacks of last week and the
not-so- solid payroll numbers coming out of the US.|
They were mostly positive in early
trading this morning
Inflation prints from Denmark and
Norway today * Weak NFP number sent rates and USD lower, but it ended higher on
Dudley remarks * Inflation prints to play key role for Nordic currencies
Emotions are still raw after the
missile strike against the Syrian regime and North Korea could be the next hotspot
to dominate world news. Most Asian markets seemed to take geopolitical tensions
in their stride today with gains for equities across much of the region.
The summit between US president
Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping ended on a mild note as the two countries
emerged with a "100-day plan" intended to help the US address its
trade deficit with Beijing.

Friday’s mixed US jobs report failed
to send the US dollar over the edge as a rebound in US bond yields at a key
level saw the big dollar ending the week on a strong note.|
