Summary for Week ending Oct-5 Calculated Risk
This was a very busy week for US economic data, capped off with an encouraging employment report…Most of the other economic data was somewhat positive too (even without housing!). Both ISM surveys (manufacturing and service) were weak, but above expectations. And auto sales were at the highest level since February 2008.

Global Week Ahead (with Sweden) – Nordea (pdf)
After this week’s heavy calendar, next week will be notably calmer, especially in terms of economic data releases. Luckily, politics and corporate earnings reports will pick-up some of the slack. However, the most pressing questions are unlikely to be answered next week.

G10 Weekly: No doubt, central banks are dominating asset marketsNordea (pdf)
Equity markets are apparently pricing in a different story than rates markets. In our view, this dislocation with rates is rather a reflection of central banks’ balance sheet expansion but perhaps also the lack of investment substitutes when core government bond yields offer negative real returns.
