MORNING BRIEFINGS
In Europe right now, it’s about inflation and
the ECB's unconventional monetary policy. In the US, it’s all about the consumer. Today
we see data on both, but the potential surprise will be the German parliament’s
vote on the latest Greek bailout.
European
markets are expected to open lower Friday amid concerns that the US fiscal cliff negotiations might
have stalled. Meanwhile, markets are keeping an eye on Eurozone unemployment
and CPI data due later today.
Japanese
stocks are higher and the yen weaker, following better-than-expected industrial
production data and flat inflation numbers. US fiscal cliff talks continue –
Republicans reject the White House budget proposal. US stocks closed higher and
Asian markets are showing modest gains. Focus on eurozone unemployment, US personal spending and retail sales
in Norway.
